Ashley Wilkins Joins WV Milken Educators

PETERSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA—Every holiday is a reason to celebrate teachers: even Halloween! West Virginia State Superintendent of Schools Michele L. Blatt is speaking at a Petersburg High School assembly to celebrate the school's 100th anniversary. But then special guest Stephanie Bishop, vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, turns the presentation on its head with a huge Halloween surprise for eighth grade ELA teacher Ashley Wilkins: a 2023-24 West Virginia Milken Educator Award and $25,000. It's a trick AND treat the teacher will remember forever.
