WINONA, TX—Texas Commissioner of Education Mike Morath has stopped by Winona Middle School for today's all-school assembly. Little do the Winona Wildcats know, there's a surprise guest waiting in the wings: Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards. In a turn of events, Dr. Foley surprises Principal Dr. Johnny Walker with the first-ever Milken Educator Award in Winona Independent School District, complete with a $25,000 cash prize.
