Colt Brockington's Milken Award Surprise in Jesup

JESUP, GEORGIA — "I want to challenge them to be the best versions of themselves they can be… that's what keeps me going," said science teacher Colt Brockington when we surprised him at Wayne County High School with Georgia's 2023-24 Milken Educator Award and $25,000. Deputy Superintendent of Rural Education and Innovation at the Georgia Department of Education Dr. Bronwyn Ragan-Martin and Georgia State Board of Education Member Nicholas Ellis joined us on January 19, 2024, for Colt's big day, one his students and colleagues will remember. When we unfurled the massive $25,000 check bearing his name, the entire assembly was on their feet cheering for the outstanding educator.
