HOUSTON, MISSISSIPPI—It’s a big day at Houston High School—the gymnasium is packed with excited students and special visitors are on hand, including Mississippi Interim State Superintendent of Education Dr. Raymond C. Morgigno and Chickasaw County School District Superintendent John Ellison. The visitors are there to commend Houston High School students and staff on their A-rated academic achievements—or so everyone thinks. When Milken Educator Awards Vice President Stephanie Bishop takes the microphone, she shares a big surprise: One teacher is about to receive a Milken Educator Award and $25,000!
