PEARL, MS—There's an exciting all-school assembly at Pearl Upper Elementary, with Mississippi Interim State Superintendent of Education Dr. Raymond C. Morgigno making a special visit to commend students and staff on the school's recent A rating. It seems like an ordinary day until Dr. Morgigno introduces Stephanie Bishop, vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, who names fifth grade science teacher Jennifer Hite a 2023-24 Milken Educator Award recipient and presents her with a huge $25,000 check.
