On December 15, 2023, Caleb Flores got the surprise of a lifetime at Greeley West High School: Colorado's Milken Educator Award and an unrestricted $25,000 cash prize. An English language arts and Culturally Linguistically Diverse (CLD) teacher at Greeley West, Flores empowers students of all backgrounds, especially English Language Learners, to know that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. "I teach because I want my students to know that no matter what they look like, where they come from, or what language they speak, they can make something of themselves," Caleb said after the assembly.
