HATTIESBURG, MS—There's an exciting all-school assembly at Oak Grove Elementary School, with Mississippi Superintendent of Education Dr. Lance Evans making a special visit to celebrate students and staff as exemplary. It seems like an ordinary day until Stephanie Bishop, vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, takes the mic and names fifth grade teacher Amanda Duplessy a 2024-25 Milken Educator Award recipient and presents her with a huge $25,000 check.
