COLUMBIA, SC—Forest Lake Elementary School is welcoming South Carolina Superintendent of Education officials for a special all-school assembly this morning. The reason for the assembly becomes clear when National Institute for Excellence in Teaching Chief Executive Officer Dr. Joshua Barnett, visiting on behalf of the Milken Family Foundation, surprises kindergarten through fifth grade lead interventionist Keighley George with a 2024-25 Milken Educator Award and $25,000! It’s a day George and Forest Lake Elementary School will never forget.
