OHIO — On Nov. 30, 2023, the Milken Educator Awards made a special visit to Ohio to honor two outstanding teachers with national recognition at celebratory all-school assemblies. Ryan Gilbert, an English language arts teacher at Ohio Hi-Point Career Center in Bellefontaine, and Marissa McCarthy, an eighth grade math teacher at Shanahan Middle School in Lewis Center, received their $25,000 Milken Awards in front of students, colleagues, dignitaries, and media, highlighting their exceptional contributions to education and to their communities.
