In November 2023, the Milken Educator Awards landed in Missouri to surprise two top teachers with national recognition at festive all-school assemblies. Seventh grade ELA teacher Leah Lawrence at Hardin Middle School in St. Charles and eighth grade social studies teacher Meghan Menchella at Ellisville's Crestview Middle School won their $25,000 Milken Awards in front of students, colleagues, dignitaries and media.
