Maine's Sarah Collins Gets the Surprise of a Lifetime

Fourth grade science and math teacher Sarah Collins had no idea that the festive assembly at Patricia A. Duran School was actually a huge surprise for her! "I feel loved and supported here," she told the students, colleagues, visitors and media who watched her win Maine's 2022 Milken Educator Award and $25,000. "I feel like I can do better because I'm surrounded by amazing colleagues and students." Maine Commissioner of Education Pender Makin (ME '01) congratulated Sarah, welcomed her to the family, and thanked her for "igniting that spark in all these kids!"
