NEW IBERIA, LA—What's going on at Johnston-Hopkins Elementary? There's a big assembly to celebrate students’ achievements with special guests and local media. But when Lowell Milken, founder of the Milken Educator Awards takes the stage, it's revealed that today's event includes a national honor for one outstanding educator. Watch as Lowell Milken, joined by Louisiana Superintendent of Education Dr. Cade Brumley, names sixth grade math and mentor teacher Christine Bayard a Louisiana Milken Educator and presents her with a $25,000 cash prize.
