AL Educator Korri Cunningham Receives the "Oscars of Teaching" in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA—Alabama State Superintendent of Education Dr. Eric G. Mackey is visiting John Herbert Phillips Academy to congratulate students and staff on their academic achievements. But what seems to be an ordinary assembly quickly turns into an extraordinary surprise for one outstanding educator. Watch as Milken Educator Awards Vice President Stephanie Bishop presents International Baccalaureate (IB) coordinator Korri Cunningham with Alabama's sole Milken Award of the 2023-24 season, an honor complete with $25,000 to be used however she likes. It's an assembly Cunningham and her school community will remember forever!
