Ryan James Wins VA Milken Award

 

 

Virginia Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Steven R. Staples congratulates the students and staff at Brown on their STEM program, noting that the school recently received a $100,000 STEM lab makeover grant from Northrup Grumman Corporation. He tells the students that their school mascot fits them perfectly: "You are so representative of panthers, who are courageous, brave, dedicated and hardworking," he says. "Of all the cats in the cat family, panthers always get to the top. Panthers are the best climbers."

Then he brings up an unexpected guest—someone who has traveled all the way from California to deliver a big surprise.
