Milken Educator Award recipient Ryan James is congratulated by former Richmond Public School Superintendent Dr. Lucille M. Brown, the namesake for James' school. Brown began her career in 1954 at Luther Jackson High School in Fairfax, Virginia. Three years later, she started her 38-year career with Richmond Public Schools as a teacher at Armstrong High School. During her tenure, she served as a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent.
