Tennessee Education Commissioner Dr. Candice McQueen leads the morning assembly at Nashville School of the Arts to congratulate students on their recent test scores...right? Turns out McQueen has a big surprise in store for English teacher Misty Ayres-Miranda: the Milken Educator Award and a check for $25,000! Joining McQueen as a representative of the Milken Family Foundation is Dr. Gary Stark, president/CEO of the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching and a Milken Educator himself from Arkansas.
