Fourth-grade teacher Roseann Maurantonio has helped struggling readers make up two years' worth of gains in reading scores thanks to her skillful implementation of reading and writing workshops and peer-to-peer instruction. As a Professional Learning Community Facilitator, she has initiated similarly successful techniques at five other schools in her district.
