Ed Howland (CA '91) died April 4, 2011, at the age of 65. The art department and district chairman’s 38-year teaching career at Shasta High School in Redding, CA, was marked by numerous accolades, including the National Secondary Art Educator Award. For 13 years, he was a reader for Advanced Placement with the College Board and assisted setting up an Advanced Placement curriculum in Canada. For several summers, Howland taught as artist in residence at Yosemite National Park.
