Vee Wilson (NV '91) passed away on January 31, 2025, in Hurricane, Utah, due to complications from Parkinson's at 84 years of age. At the Time of the Award, Vee was the principal of Grant Bowler Elementary School in Logandale, NV where he championed school-community collaboration, initiated programs for at-risk students, and was instrumental in earning national recognition for his school. His influence extended beyond his tenure in the Clark County School District when he founded Odyssey, Nevada’s first charter school—a challenge he described as the hardest of his career. Wilson's leadership and dedication to education left a lasting impact on countless students, teachers, and families. In addition, he enjoyed developing new skills in his retired life, winning the partner's gold medal in horseshoes at the Senior Olympics. Vee is survived by his wife, Nina “Peggy” Wilson, seven children, 22 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren as well as his four brothers and one sister. He was proceeded in death by his first wife, Carolyn and his parents, Alvin and Lucy.
