Memoriam  All Memoriams

Diane Weitz (IA '94) passed away on June 12, 2014. Diane began her career as an elementary school teacher but quickly rose to principal—a position she held at multiple schools including Carter Lake Elementary School, where she served at the time of her Milken Educator Award. During her nearly 40-year career in education, Diane was also honored as Iowa Elementary Principal of the Year, National Distinguished Principal and served as President of School Administrators of Iowa. Even after retirement, Diane continued working to improve the Iowa school system, working as a trainer in the Department of Education.

Such was her dedication to education that her family could think of no better way to honor her memory than to direct all memorials to a a scholarship and loan fund that helps young women further their education.
