On March 29, 2022, the Milken Family Foundation delivered the surprise of a lifetime to two outstanding educators: the Milken Educator Award and $25,000! Neither Nancie Lawrence, reading specialist at Steere Farm Elementary in Pascoag, nor John Rosenbaum, a social studies teacher at Segue Institute for Learning in Central Falls, had any idea that the festive assemblies they attended with students and colleagues were actually organized to honor them and recognize their contributions to the education profession.
