The governor and First Lady Dawn Amano-Ige are visiting Momilani Elementary to celebrate its designation as a Blue Ribbon School, along with Hawaii State Superintendent Kathryn Matayoshi and Complex Area Superintendent Rodney Luke. The morning assembly goes along as expected…until Lowell Milken, chairman and co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation, takes the microphone and surprises third-grade teacher Masaru Uchino with a 2016-17 Milken Educator Award and $25,000, making the day one Uchino will remember forever.
