Catherine Randall Becomes a Louisiana Milken Educator

More than a decade after Hurricane Katrina destroyed much of St. Bernard Parish, Joseph J. Davies Elementary School is back on track. Today the school is buzzing with visiting dignitaries, including John White, Louisiana's superintendent of education, and Doris Voitier, St. Bernard Parish School District superintendent. They're here to celebrate the students' success … but is that the only reason? Watch as special guest Lowell Milken, chairman and co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation, surprises third-grade teacher Catherine Randall with a Louisiana Milken Educator Award, making the autumn day one Randall will remember forever.
