Marielle Emet Accepts Her RI 2013 Milken Educator Award Worth $25,000

Marielle Emet of Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy in Lincoln, RI, held back the tears as she heard Governor Lincoln Chafee call her name as the only 2013-14 Milken Educator Award winner from Rhode Island. The Governor and the Commissioner of Education Dr. Deborah Gist joined the hundreds of students, many Milken Educators and, of course, the Milken Family Foundation in celebrating outstanding educators by honoring this humble math teacher.
