Second-Grade Teacher Stephanie Hawkins of Joliet Scores $25,000 Milken Educator Award for Illinois

Lynne Thigpen Elementary School, Joliet, second-grade teacher Stephanie Hawkins expects nothing but the best.  Today, she received nothing but the best when she was surprised with the $25,000 Milken Educator Award during an all-school assembly. Hawkins is the sole recipient from the state. She continually raises the bar for achievement, and her students are making gains by leaps and bounds.
