Texas Governor Rick Perry paid a special visit to Melba Passmore Elementary School in Alvin, Texas, to surprise Kristi Plummer, a math intervention specialist for grades 3–5, with a $25,000 Milken Educator Award. Texas Education Commissioner Michael Williams and Milken Educator Awards Senior Vice President Dr. Jane Foley joined the entire school in singing Kristi’s praises.
