Lakevue's Sara Ward Accepts Her Milken Educator Award and Thanks Her Students
Third grade teacher Sara Ward of Lakevue Elementary School in Nampa, ID, thinks she may work for the best school district in the world, which gives her direction and her "purpose to move forward." Today, Sara’s work earned her a $25,000 Milken Educator Award. Idaho Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna and National Institute for Excellence in Teaching President and CEO Gary Stark joined in the celebration. Sara, like most inspired and inspiring educators, is quick to thank her students for "working hard and wanting to excel in my classroom and all of our classrooms." We agree and echo her encouragement to students to "keep striving!"
