Waltham High School history teacher Derek Vandegrift received a Milken Educator Award on October 18, 2011. He thanked one of his teachers who made a difference in his life and said he had similar ambitions for his students. "I look into your eyes and I see me many years ago and I know that you guys can go out and make a great difference," said Vandegrift.
