Bellefontaine's Ryan Gilbert Receives Ohio Milken Educator Award

Jessica Voltolini, interim director of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, is spending the morning at Ohio Hi-Point Career Center in Bellefontaine to talk about the Future Forward Ohio program. But little does everyone know there's a surprise ahead for one outstanding educator—and it comes with a check for $25,000! When Greg Gallagher, senior program director for the Milken Educator Awards, names Ryan Gilbert a 2023-24 Milken Educator, the English language arts teacher's career is forever changed. He is the first Milken Educator Award recipient at Ohio Hi-Point Career Center and the 2,956th Educator named on the journey to surprising our 3,000th Milken Educator.
