Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, explains that the outstanding teacher being honored today will also take home a substantial cash prize. How much? Student volunteers hold up cards representing the amount of the Award. When Missouri Department of Education Commissioner Dr. Margie Vandeven holds up the final zero, bringing the number to an impressive $25,000, the assembly hoots and hollers with excitement.
