Dr. William Beardsley, Maine Department of Education acting commissioner, commends the school on its commitment to Restorative School Practices, a peer mediation program. But the assembly takes an unexpected turn when Beardsley introduces Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards.
