Maine's Newest Milken Educator Is STEM Teacher Michaela Lamarre

Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, tells the assembly that the teacher who is about to receive a Milken Educator Award also gets a cash prize. How much? Volunteers hold up cards with numbers representing the amount of the award. When Dr. William Beardsley, Maine Department of Education acting commissioner, holds up the final zero and brings the total to $25,000, the crowd erupts in cheers and applause.
