The Washington, D.C., 2023-24 Milken Educator Is: Kelly Maranchuck!

Senior Curriculum Coordinator and Instructional Coach Kelly Maranchuck catches her breath after her surprise Milken Educator Award notification. In the classroom and, now, as a school leader at BASIS D.C., Kelly has been an integral part of student success. Her fifth graders exceeded expectations on baseline school assessments in English language arts and achieved 10% improvement in their PARCC reading scores from 2021-22 to 2022-23. Her classroom became a model for observation by other teachers in the school, and today she works across the school to leverage instructional methods that help students thrive.
