Milken Educators of Hawai’i

The Milken Educators of Hawai'i, comprised of educators who have achieved national recognition, aims to advance the teaching profession through professional development and excellence in education. We are committed to supporting our members and improving the quality of education in Hawai’i.

Our History:

Founded in 1992 by a group of exceptional educators recognized by the Milken Family Foundation, Milken Educators of Hawai’i has been a driving force in elevating the teaching profession in the state of Hawai’i. Inspired by the Milken Awards’ legacy, our organization is dedicated to supporting and celebrating outstanding educators, fostering professional growth and promoting educational excellence.

Over the years, our organization has expanded its reach and impact beyond recognizing individual educators to spearheading initiatives that benefit the entire education community. We have been instrumental in advocating for policies that support teachers, students and schools. Through our annual awards celebrations, mentorship programs, and professional development opportunities, we have inspired countless educators to reach new heights and make a lasting difference in the lives of their students.

Our Hawai’i Network has been a vital force in our state. We’ve organized fundraising activities to establish scholarships for teachers and administrators to further their professional development and career goals. Additionally, we have offered assistance to state and district superintendents in areas such as science fairs, speech contests, leadership training and other educational endeavors.

As we continue our journey as a Milken state network, we remain committed to our founding principles: recognizing excellence, fostering collaboration and advocating for a brighter future for education in Hawai’i. Join us in supporting our mission to empower educators and transform the lives of students.
