Mel Coryell (IN '15) Named Teach Plus Indianapolis Teaching Fellow for 2017-18 Year

Indiana Milken Educator Melody Coryell (IN '15) is among 20 outstanding Indianapolis-area teachers selected for the Teach Plus Indianapolis 2017-18 Teaching Policy Fellowship. Fellows participate in a 12-month specially-designed course of study in education policy and advocacy. Since 2007, the highly-selective Fellowship program gives teachers a voice to focus their work on timely and relevant education issues facing the local community, city and state. Through personal interactions with education leaders, the Fellows have the opportunity to advocate for policies that magnify their impact in the classroom, which better serves Indiana's students and the teaching profession.
Coryell is the English teacher and coordinator of the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma program at Shortridge High School in Indianapolis.
