Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Commissioner of Education Dr. Penny Schwinn are visiting with Mt. Juliet Middle School students for an assembly featuring the state's "Riley the Reading Raccoon" literacy program. But is there another reason? When Governor Lee and Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, surprise eighth grade social studies teacher Tyler Hallstedt with a Tennessee Milken Award and $25,000, the assembly quickly becomes one the school will never forget. Tyler Hallstedt is the first recipient in Wilson County Schools.
