The teacher who is about to receive a Milken Educator Award also gets a cash prize. How much? One digit at a time, students hold up cards representing the amount of the Award. When New York State Education Commissioner Dr. Betty A. Rosa holds up the final zero, the room gets a little louder: That's $25,000, and the teacher can use the money any way he or she wants!
