Emily Snyder, You’re an Alaska Milken Educator!

Everyone at Nenana City School is gathered in the gym for a visit from Alaska Commissioner of Education Dr. Deena Bishop. When a special guest takes the microphone, the morning assembly turns into a life-changing surprise for one outstanding educator. Representing the Milken Family Foundation, National Institute for Excellence in Teaching Chief Executive Officer Dr. Joshua Barnett presents first and second grade teacher Emily Snyder with the sole 2024-25 Alaska $25,000 Milken Educator Award. Snyder is the first Milken Educator Award recipient in Nenana City School District history. Click through the photos below to see a surprise Nenana City School will never forget!
