The teacher who is about to win a Milken Educator Award also gets a cash prize. One digit at a time, Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, has students hold up cards representing the amount of the Award. When Michigan Chief Deputy Superintendent of Education Sheila Alles reveals the final zero, the room starts to buzz: $25,000!
