Catherine Randall Named Louisiana Milken Educator

It's been more than a decade since Hurricane Katrina destroyed much of St. Bernard Parish, and Joseph J. Davies Elementary School has made a remarkable comeback. Today Louisiana Superintendent of Education John White and St. Bernard Parish School District Superintendent Doris Voitier are visiting to celebrate students' success. But is that the only reason? White introduces Lowell Milken, chairman and co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation, who surprises third-grade teacher Catherine Randall with a Louisiana Milken Educator Award and transforms the all-school gathering into an event Randall will remember forever.
