The special guest is Lowell Milken, chairman and co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation, who tells the assembly that although teachers have the important job of preparing young people for bright futures, they get recognized for their efforts far too seldom. Three decades ago, he created the Milken Educator Awards to honor outstanding educators across the U.S.
