Lowell Milken, chairman and co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation, tells the Chino Hills students that "as a society, we ask our teachers to prepare every one of you to lead satisfying and productive lives....No work is more important in our society today." He adds that research shows the most important in-school factor in student success is the quality of the teacher in the classroom, yet educators rarely get the same kinds of public accolades as athletes or actors. That's why the Milken Educator Awards team scours the country every year looking for outstanding teachers...and this year, one of those teachers is right here at Ayala!
