0606 NIET Panel

Lowell Milken, founder of the Milken Educator Awards and the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET), leads a panel discussion on the 2024 Forum theme: Unleashing Educator Leadership. "The single most important factor that drives student learning is the quality of the educator in the classroom," he says. He shares how NIET began with his vision of "building educator excellence to give all students the opportunities for success."

NIET focuses on helping schools build a culture of continuous academic improvement, in part, by developing teacher leaders into instructional coaches to share strategies schoolwide. All the panelists are Milken Educators who partner with NIET and see significant student outcomes putting the organization's principles into practice.
