2024 MEA Forum: Unleashing Educator Leadership

 

 

"What this recognition does, is it instills a greater sense of responsibility to lead and to inspire in the field of education," Nardi Routten (FL '14) shares. "I have a heightened obligation of holding the highest standard and it provides me a broader platform and a voice. I'm going to use that voice." She talks about her career path in the panel discussion "Milken Educators' Leadership Roles in the Profession." Dr. Gary Stark (AR '01) adds: "I felt that I was given permission to do something bigger, and I wanted to do something bigger."

Veteran Milken Educators frequently go on to serve in leadership roles at state, national and international levels. In addition to her commitment to remain in the classroom teaching fourth grade, Nardi has served on the National Assessment Governing Board, helping to set policy for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).
