2024 MEA Forum: Unleashing Educator Leadership

 

 

Wade Whitehead (VA '00) shares that the Milken Educator Award pin is shiny for a reason, encouraging attendees to reflect on their experiences and potential. "This Milken Educator Award can be a mirror," he says in his "Milken Educators Leading the Way" TEDx session. "It can show you who you were, who you are, and even who you might become."

The Award recognizes success, but more importantly, it exposes potential. In Virginia, the Teachers of Promise Institute builds on these goals by recognizing and supporting excellent young teachers with mentorship and resources. “The biggest problems in this world and especially in our profession haven't been solved yet," he continues. "I believe we might be the ones who solve them.”
