Jessica Cunningham Named 2015 DC Milken Educator

 

 

KIPP DC College Preparatory Principal Jessica Cunningham talks with reporters after the announcement of her Milken Educator Award. Cunningham had no idea the award was coming and had been told the assembly would include a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the school's new building. "I feel shocked and grateful," she says to the cameras. "I had no clue this was happening today. I really thought we were going to have a ribbon-cutting and send the kids back to class."
