During interviews, Rafal Olechowski, an English and Language teacher at Townsend Harris High School in Flushing, NY, was asked about his background. He was a teacher in Poland and came here in 1990. Why did he come to the US? "I saw it as the land of opportunity. And it is. A lady just flew from California and gave me $25,000."
