2014–15 Milken Educator Awards Launch #TeachForTheStars

Dear Educators and Champions of Education,

Our favorite time of year—when we have the privilege of honoring some of the finest educators around the country with a surprise $25,000 Milken Educator Award—begins this week! This year we’re focusing our Awards theme on one of the most important aspects of any great educator: the ability to inspire and empower students to rise higher than they thought possible. We’re calling our theme “Teach For The Stars.”

As you may know, the goal of the Milken Educator Awards goes beyond just recognizing outstanding educators—we could do that with a simple phone call as we did in the early days (don’t miss the “Fun Facts,” below)—to inspiring the next generation of great educators. We could tell you that it’s working…or you can watch our new “That’s My Teacher!” video and see for yourselves.

This year, in addition to our new Milken Educator Awards brochure (featuring many of our new and veteran Educators), we’ve also created the program Fun Facts and an Educator Reflections article highlighting just some of the incredible experiences that the Awards and the honorees have had over our 27 years of putting on the preeminent educator recognition program in the country.
