Lois Cohn was a librarian and media center teacher at the McGaugh Elementary School in Orange County. She developed and implemented media center programs that received wide recognition for their outstanding quality, and her video production course for elementary students generated student-produced videos that consistently won awards for excellence. The media center Ms. Cohn created was one of three finalists for the American Library Association's 1991 National School Media Center Award. In 1991 Ms. Cohn also received the President's Award as California's Media Teacher of the Year, the highest award of the California Media and Library Educator's Association.
