Students surround fifth-grade teacher Thomas Dennison for a celebratory hug at his surprise Milken Educator Award notification. Dennison is known for helping students tap into their most powerful resource: their imaginations. They learn about the Revolutionary War by reenacting the battle of Lexington and Concord with water balloons, explore rocketry in the school yard, and participate in massive math-oriented scavenger hunts. Former students have described Dennison as the teacher who changed their lives.
